This is the Snake Sword Necklace. A quiet little threat no one else needs to understand.
In Victorian symbolism, snakes represented eternity, loyalty, and rebirth—the act of shedding skin and continuing on, changed but intact. That layered meaning is woven directly into this piece. There’s something powerful about pairing a serpent with a blade. One speaks to transformation, the other speaks to boundaries. Together, they become a quiet acknowledgment that survival isn’t passive. Sometimes it’s about knowing when to release what no longer fits. Sometimes it’s about choosing yourself without explanation. This piece holds that tension—the softness of renewal and the sharpness of self-preservation
I made this for the people who are finished being palatable. For the ones who have survived themselves a few times already and understand that reinvention isn’t aesthetic—it’s necessary. The snake sheds. The blade remains. You keep going.
Wear it when you’re in between versions of yourself. Or when you’re fully in your final form.
The snake head and sword are on both the front and back of the piece; it is fully 3-D.
Dimensions:
The charm measures 2 1/4 inches long and just over 1/2 an inch at its widest. The chain is 20 inches long and secures with a lobster clasp.
Materials:
Silver Tone: White brass sword charm on a stainless steel chain.
Gold Tone: Brass charm on a gold plated, stainless steel chain.
The base metals I use (Silver Tone and Gold Tone) are both 100% brass. White brass is a metallic alloy that is made of copper and zinc. There is no nickel in any of our jewelry. For more information on the metals I use, please see the FAQ's.
All my jewelry is hand made by me, Karen Yost, in my NYC studio at the time of purchase. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the production of your order and an additional 2-3 days for shipping if you are located in the U.S. If you need your jewelry quickly, take a look at my Ready to Ship Collection.
