This is your new lucky charm.
The number 13 made from the bodies of rats. A circle of teeth encasing it all. A cursed little masterpiece forged in metal and rebellion. Inspired by Victorian 13 charms—the original “screw you” to superstition—but with a creepier twist.
This piece is a macabre homage to the Victorian tradition of wearing the number 13 as a charm against fear. Back then, it was a quiet rebellion—a way to reject superstition and embrace the unknown.
Handmade in NYC, cast in sterling silver, brass, or silver tone, and meant to be worn like a secret spell or a whispered dare. For those who walk with rats. For those who find beauty in the grotesque. For those who don’t ask permission.
These are my Rats, Clarice and Debra:

Silver Tone: White brass charm on a stainless steel rope chain.
Gold Tone: Brass charm on a gold plated, stainless steel rope chain.
Sterling Silver: All parts are solid sterling silver including the chain and charm.
Dimensions:
The base metals I use (Silver Tone and Gold Tone) are both 100% brass. White brass is a metallic alloy that is made of copper and zinc. There is no nickel in any of my jewelry. For more information on the metals I use, please see the FAQ's.
All my jewelry is hand made by me, Karen Yost, in my NYC studio at the time of purchase. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the production of your order and an additional 2-3 days for shipping if you are located in the U.S. If you need your jewelry quickly, take a look at my Ready to Ship Collection. These pieces are in stock and will ship immediately.
Your jewelry will arrive gift wrapped in the packaging listed in the photos. Feel free to request a particular box you have your eye on at checkout. Thanks for taking a look at my jewels!
